Džumelec

Erik Sikora creates music while creating visual art and these two worlds are increasingly intertwined. He has been working under the name Džumelec since 2012 and has released four albums, each as a complete conceptual story. The first album, Odkalisko staré psisko (2012), is sung in a masked voice created by speeding up audio tracks. The second album, Brutovce (2014), was recorded at home in the bathroom after putting the children to sleep and brings an attempt to define the genre of “landscape rap” or “rural pop”. For the album Dakus (2018), he collected songs sanded down at concerts, containing as much fictional substance as possible “popeín”. The album Jeleň Zeleň (2015) is a documentary album about and for children, which he followed up with concerts for a child audience. Live, Džumelec is accompanied by guitarist Lukáš Valkučák.
